Today is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. Starting tomorrow they each get longer and longer. Tonight is also the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter, they were clearly very close to each other last week. I hope the sky is clear tonight so we can see it well. The schedule this week is
Mon- Maryland 2- vertical pull focus
Tue- Nebraska 2- horizontal pressing focus
Wed- Tennessee 3- Squat focus
Thur- Wisconsin 3- Horizontal pulling focus (no evening session)
Fri- Christmas!
Recap of Friday.
All in all we raised $1345 for Big House Foundation. I am ecstatic. In my head, my goal was $1000. I really had no idea how it would play out, the idea was born just 8 days before the event. Spur of the moment I guess you could say. I will post on fbook today some great pictures from the day. I can't thank you enough for your support and generosity. It really feels great to be able to do something I really enjoyed and it all went toward helping others. I feel like people had a great time and maybe the future holds a large Saturday event. People enjoy doing 5ks, Mud Runs etc on Saturdays, why not an Iron Blaze SCavenger Hunt with sponsors, prizes, t shirts, etc. It was very inclusive for all levels and people got an opportunity to get outside in nature and play. I really enjoyed seeing families join up together to do it along with random strangers that went hiking together not once but twice.
I was thinking of heading back to the lower pavilion today, it has been a while since we were there but with the whole Christmas Star thing and I need to go grab a few books, Upper pavilion will be the spot today.
Jan 1 morning sessions may get moved back a bit, possibly will do a later morning session. The park has asked me about leading the "First Day Hike" which is typically a state park nationwide event. I haven't gotten any specific details on this event and will let you know as soon as I do.
