Power= Work/Time
Remember that one from physics class?
Power is one of the first things we lose as we age. It is what forces professional athletes to call it a career earlier than they want to. The deterioration can be slowed down. It can't be completely stopped but you can definitely put the brakes on it with your activity. You can find humans much STRONGER and more endurance in their 40s than in the 20s with EASE, but speed...That one is a use it or lose it. You have probably heard the term "plyometrics". Pretty scary term but could be as simple as small hops. It could mean large rotational box jumps or lateral bounds, it could mean a lot of things. Programming them is athlete dependent based on their individual level of body control. The point is that we need to ask our body to move FAST sometimes. REALLY fast. We will do some of that today. There will be no trail running but we may be in the upper pavilion field depending on the weather and other "things" we do today.
If you notice that I get super hippy on you soon, blame my reading. Did you know that there are over 77,000 man-made chemicals in the environment all around you? Did you also know it is these very same chemicals that have been proven to cause cancer, disease, and weight gain?
With these types of data-driven facts, it becomes easy to see why cancer is becoming the #1 cause of death in the world and will soon affect every 1 out of 2 people.
I am researching some integrative health concepts. It is quite a rabbit hole.
Turn over every rock. That is my mission. Find as many answers as possible.
See ya in the upper.
